You will be missed Sierra.

So after several weeks of struggling through my second wood working project I've finally completed the bunkbed stairs for the girls.
Not a small project to tackle for someone who isn't usually around power tools but it was a great learning experience. It also gave me an opportunity to buy some tools for my collection. I went with the Bosch palm router (which is awesome) and a Bosch jigsaw. That's one of my rules, as with many guys I suppose. Every project gets a new power tool... or two.
We decided to build the stairs for the kids bunkbeds since my daughter doesn't seem to like ladders all that much, too scary I guess. And for a safety factor, stairs are a great alternative.
We also needed to get a little extra storage in the room so this worked out great. Now we additional four drawers that are built into the stairs and the kids don't have to worry about falling through ladders or climbing up the sides of the bed. Although one unforeseen aspect I didn't realize is that a child, given a set of stairs, will inherently attempt to try and find the maximum height they can safely jump from. So far we're up to step number 2.
Here are some pics.

A few people have been asking about the Photo:Post section of the site so here is what to do:
Every Monday, a new "topic" or "theme" will be posted as the category of the week.
Sort through your photographic archives, or be inspired to go out and shoot your visual representation of the theme.
Once you've posted your photo to your photoblog, website or flickr account, just submit your info with the link to your page and let everyone else see what you've done. It's a great way to show your work, see what others are doing and have a little fun while you're at it.
Come back each week and do it all over again.
You can also check out the archives to see how other photographers (amateurs and professionals) have represented previous themes.
Good luck and good shooting.
As I looked around for a simple way to implement a preventative measure for comment spam, I came across this nice and easy tidbit of info over on abeautifulsite.net
Although it uses javascript in the method, which won't allow comments if javascript is turned off in the browser, I think it works great and is as simple as it gets.
You basically remove the (or rather, change) your submit input to a button and make your form action go to a dummy/non-existent page.
Then you use javascript to submit the form to the correct page.
Nice.
Just a little welcome into the world to my new son Karson. Happy Birthday!
I know there are tons of Mac specific freeware out there but you can never have enough free software. I would suggest offering a donation to the people who put their time and effort into making these useful pieces of software available for the community.
So here it is... another list of Mac specific freeware in no particular order.

Welcome to boondawgle.com.
It's been a while...I've finally gotten around to recreating the site after the severe server crash. It's pretty barebones right now but it will be in a constant state of change over the next little while as I tweak the code, add more features and work on the layout a little.
Photo:Post is back so go ahead and start posting links to your photo blog each week as the subject changes.
Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if there is anything you would like to see on the site. Suggestions are always welcome.
